The flowers that bloom in the Spring Tra la...

Howdy Y'all! Welcome to my website. I know you are probably wondering why I call it my website "Terry's Chaos" when after working on it for a while it's pretty well organized. Quite frankly at the time, it was the only thing I could think of. Not very imaginative is it? When I wanted to make my own web pages, I had all these ideas running through my head but they weren't very organized since I had no clue where to start. Henceforth, the name "Terry's Chaos". I hope you enjoy my website. There's loads of info here on just about anything that may interest you. If you have any questions, just drop me a line and I'll try to answer it for you. Enjoy!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Terry and I'm from Texas. Unfortunately, I'm not a native. I was born in Charleston, SC. My dad (a native Texan) was in the Air Force, and South Carolina is just where we happend to be stationed when I was born. When I was about 2 yrs. old my dad got transferred to Bergstrom AFB in Austin. I spent most of my young life in Austin, so I consider myself to be a Texan. I graduated in 1973 from David Crockett High School (any Cougars out there?). I've been married to Steve since 1980 (he's not a Texan either - he's from Georgia ) and have a beautiful daughter and a handsome son. After spending 20 years in the Air Force, we were finally able to settle in one place, and of course we chose Texas. We've lived in Arkansas, Florida, Italy, Maryland, Colorado and of course Texas (San Angelo and San Antonio). Steve spent a tour in Japan before we were married and a tour in Korea after we were married. I also spent some time in California and Okinawa during a previous life. Some of those places were great, and some not so great, but we decided that Texas is where we wanted to be (plus I wouldn't live anywhere else!). I love Texas and everything about it. If you've never been to Texas, then you are missing out on some great things. We have everything you could ever want just in one state. Our winters are mild and even though the summers can get VERY HOT, you do get use to it (at least that's what we say!). If you want to know more about Texas and see some great pictures of our state, check out the Texas Highways website. You can also check out TravelTex: Texas it's Like a Whole Other Country or even the Texas Department of Transportation websites. We moved to Plano which is just north of Dallas, in Oct. 1996 after hubby retired from the Air Force. As a result of Sept. 11th, hubby got laid off the end of March 2002 so we decided to sell our house and take our show on the road so to speak. We bought a 33ft. 1988 Pace Arrow RV after we sold our house the beginning of January 2003 and lived in it for a while since we had no idea how long hubby would be without a job. Our plan was to travel around this wonderful state and eventually go see other parts of the country. That lasted about a month. Hubby soon got a job offer in Fort Worth and that put an end to our travel plans. Soooo, we parked our motorhome in a little town just south of Ft. Worth called Burleson. It was kind of a culture shock for us because we had lived in the heart of the city where it only took us a couple of minutes to run up to the local Wendy's. Well, there wasn't a Wendy's in Burleson at that time and I had no clue where one was or how far I had to go. Burleson is a town of 28,350 people (according to their 2005 estimate). A big difference from Plano that had 243,500. Living in the RV lasted a couple of months but was starting to get a little cramped. Plus there was nothing for A.J. (my son) and I to do while hubby was at work. We started looking around for a place to rent but found that most of the places were too small and wanted too much money. We didn't want to live in a "big" city again so that left out looking in Ft. Worth. After looking for weeks to rent a place, we decided to check out the local manufactured home dealers. Boy, were we in for a surprise! If you haven't seen one lately, you might want to go check them out. They have really changed. We fell in love with the 4th or 5th one we saw and decided to buy it. It's not quite as big as our house in Plano was but we always add on if we want to. I know, some of you will say it's just a "trailer" but you'd be surprised by all of the improvements that have been made on "trailers". Sure there's no attic or basement or garage or even those really tall ceilings. But like I said, we can always add on if we want. And if you all really want those tall ceilings, that's fine. I myself would prefer to keep my heat down closer to the ground than up on those tall ceilings where nobody's at. Next we needed a place to set our house. We decided to do that on almost 5 acres of land about 5 miles north of the big city of Godley. The land has a creek running through the back of the property but it's far enough away that we don't get flooded (of course it would have to be a lot of water to flood our house that sits a couple of feet off the ground). There are a few Mesquite trees on the main part of the property and several more trees down by the creek including the infamous Bois d'Arc. We knew we'd be planting some more after we got settled in. We were looking forward to becoming "country bumpkins" after being "city folk" for so long. It's been a little over 2 years since we moved to the country and a new experience for us living out in the "boonies". There's been some drawbacks (the long drives to ANYTHING) but we have been loving it more and more each day. We've planted trees and bushes and I've even got a flower bed for my roses. We've got a shed for the riding mower and some of the junk we didn't know what to do with. Hubby fenced in the "backyard" for the dogs so now they are happy. We still have the RV but haven't used it since we parked it the day we moved in to our house. One of these days I'll get around to posting some pictures of the home front.

I enjoy doing crafts and have been dabbling in scrapbooking. Scrapbooking is a wonderful way to preserve your photographs and your family history. As soon as I get more pages done, I plan to scan them and add them to my site.

We started homeschooling in September 2000. Our daughter graduated in May 2002 and our son is going into high school. It has been a challenging experience but a rewarding one also. We are free to travel whenever we want and discover new things that we wouldn't have been able to do if the kids had gone to a regular school. Our son has stated that he never wants to go back to public school. Check out the page I have for homeschooling , especially if you have been thinking about doing it too. You will never regret your decision to homeschool your child.

I have links to all sorts of interesting places on my Other Links page.. I really dislike having to try and find a page I've been to so
I tend to bookmark just about every place I've ever visited. I've been meaning to update these pages and will be redoing how it looks, so please bear with me. It will look great and be real simple to use once I get done.

I'm an avid TEXAS LONGHORN fan so check out my Longhorn pages. There is a lot of information on the Longhorns as well as some great pictures of Ricky Williams and some of the other great players. Even though I'm not really a Dallas Cowboys fan, here is a link to their site.

Check out my page dedicated to Military Spouses. Having been a military spouse, it's nice to be appreciated for all that we do.

Thanks for visiting! Y'all come back now, ya hear!
